General information

Omnifix® SOLO by B. Braun are disposable three-piece syringes for infusion and sterile withdrawal of liquids within the body.

The Omnifix® family of syringes is:
  • latex-free
  • chemically stable
  • transparent
  • with no transfer of substances or determination of chemical reactions with the products contained therein

Made up of three pieces:
Cylinder:
  • uniform and smooth surface absolutely free from open air bubbles or other defects that could compromise its seal
  • percentage of extra volume equal to or greater than 10% of the nominal capacity of the syringe
  • equipped with an identifiable retaining ring which prevents the piston from unintentionally coming out
  • graduated scale: precise and visible engraved and/or printed with indelible ink for easy reading of the volume, resistant to disinfectants and manipulation to guarantee the accuracy of the dosage of the drugs during collection and administration
  • cone in transparent non-toxic plastic material to allow visibility of the liquid and/or blood

Plunger:
  • the inner end of the plunger is fitted with a capsule which guarantees controlled and constant sliding as well as a perfect seal
  • no drug residue when the piston is pushed all the way down

Piston
  • latex-free synthetic elastomer qualified according to ISO 10 993 resp. DIN EN 30 993
  • with double sealing ring

Omnifix® syringes comply with the ISO 7886-2 standard, therefore they are compatible for use in a syringe pump where expressly provided for by the pump manufacturer.
