Grey scale reproduction
Accurate grey scale reproduction is essential for achieving the correct tonal range in a printed image. Sony printers and print media have perfectly matched grey scales, ensuring the best possible image transfer quality.

Anti-static layer
Sony print media has an anti-static layer that prevents the build-up of electrostatic energy. Without this layer, electrostatic energy would accumulate, risking a spark that could destroy vital electronic components in the printer, particularly those in the thermal head.

Thermal head life
Sony print media is designed and manufactured to contain as few harmful ions as possible. Other print media with high ion levels can attack the thermal head material, reducing its working life.
