Mainly used in ultrasound, gynaecology and microscopy applications. Using the right print media is equally important: the quality of a printed image can facilitate diagnosis and make the document useful over time. Choosing the right media can make all the difference in critical moments. Sony print media and printers have been developed to work together: this is the only way to get the most out of them.
Roll size: 110 mm × 20 m
Standard equipment
Box of 10 rolls of 215 prints each.
Technical information
Grey scale reproduction Accurate grey scale reproduction is essential for achieving the correct tonal range in a printed image. Sony printers and print media have perfectly matched grey scales, ensuring the best possible image transfer quality.
Anti-static layer Sony print media has an anti-static layer that prevents the build-up of electrostatic energy. Without this layer, electrostatic energy would accumulate, risking a spark that could destroy vital electronic components in the printer, particularly those in the thermal head.
Thermal head life Sony print media is designed and manufactured to contain as few harmful ions as possible. Other print media with high ion levels can attack the thermal head material, reducing its working life.
Print durability High humidity can cause a significant loss in print density. By using Sony print media instead of other manufacturers' media, the deterioration in quality will be significantly lower, especially in high humidity conditions. Choosing Sony print media means choosing durability.
Durability It is essential that a print medium has good technical characteristics in order to maximise the quality potential of a printer, even when the medium is exposed to a very humid environment. Sony print media has been formulated to prevent jamming. In addition, image density is minimally affected by changes in humidity conditions.
